Hugo Crispim is a young Portuguese freelance writer that graduated in 2009 with an honor degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Writing is an overwhelming passion, and although he likes to write about many different subjects, writing about soccer is where his heart truly lies.

For Hugo, travel is the essence of life; abandoning the safety of one´s home and dive in, with no fear, into the unknown world is one of the best experiences a human being can have. So as soon as he finished his BA, that’s what he did. Barcelona, Luanda, London, Berlin, Krakow, Maastricht, and Prague were some of the places he visited, where he met different people, different cultures and learned from them all. He is now famishing for more adventures, for more knowledge, and more memories.

Spanish, Portuguese, and English are the languages he speaks, although he truly thinks they are not enough. He wants to learn more; he has time, his still young.

He found the passion for writing, after he realized that becoming a professional soccer player was not his destiny, not with that busted knee at least. That passion gave him purpose and structure, he loves playing with words and write about his experiences in a short story kind of way. He still has a long away to go in order to become a respected writer, but he will get there. Hugo always tries at 200% in everything he sets his mind to; with a heart full of happiness and a focused mind, he will eventually get there. To those places he was not suppose to reach.

Currently he lives in Prague working for the brand management company, Passion Communications, as a copywriter, online PR, web content producer, and basically everything else his boss throws at him; in Portuguese it's called "pau para toda obra", or simply "jack-of-all-trades" in English. He also writes for the Prague Post, the only English based newspaper in Prague, and to different magazines in Portugal, and Angola.

Soccer is still with him, a pitch is a place of freedom for him. With pain, broken members, rain, snow, sun, wind, hot, or cold, Hugo - whenever he has a chance - still runs to a soccer pitch to play the game, always with a smile on his face.

His dream is to become the youngest writer/photographer to ever join the National Geographic Team. I know; He shoots for the fence that crazy boy!
